"Square Pocketful, 2006 17" x 17" x 15"
I chose this pattern because I loved the
freedom of the goofy flowers, and there is not a repeat in sight! I
gathered all my favorite textures and added a few solids. The golds are
6C, Warm Bread and 6D, Dull Gold from my dye book, Dyeing by the Numbers.
The red is 2005 red (you can find this recipe here) and 3B, My Favorite, also
from my book.
The finishing was done in a class with Kim Nixon. My guild, Michigan
Rugg Artistes, brought her in to teach a class. The finishing was
surprisingly simple and easy. It was faster than finishing a rug of the
same size! I will probably make more footstools and use Kim's method for
finishing. |
