Hooked by Sue Adams, Lima, OH

Size: 20" x 20"

The birch bark makes a perfect rustic border around this woodsy rug.

Size: 21" x 33"

This is a great example of the largest birch trees hooked with my birch wool that I have seen.  Great job, Joanne.

Birch Bark wool used for lettering in Laura Milliken's "Up North" rug.  The larger cut preserves the distinctive pattern of the wool.  These letters are a perfect companion to the charming primitive motifs hooked in the center.

I used wool dyed with just the dry brush method, no stripes.  I used some barn red in addition to the chestnut and black used in the birch bark instructions.  I was trying to portray a barn with peeling paint.

Fine cut trees are wonderful hooked with birch bark wool.  The small size makes it difficult to get the markings on the trees.  With the birch bark wool you simply hook, the markings happen automatically.

This piece was hooked by Diana Foltz, Tucson, AZ.

Pattern is Birches from House of Price, designed by Jane McGown Flynn.

Other examples will be posted as I collect them.  If you have an example and would like to share it, please send me a photo.
